National Highway Authority has clarified a news item published in Business Recorder titled "BNP leader holds NHA responsible for Lasbela Accident". Clarifying the 'actual' position, spokesman for National Highway Authority said that "an accident took place at KM 179 - 180 Near Bella Cross (N-25) on January 21, 2019 around 1900 Hrs involving a Panjgur Bound passenger coach travelling from Karachi to Panjgur collided with a Mazda Pickup coming from the opposite direction.

"As per the report of locals/administration/levies check post in the vicinity, bus carrying passengers from Karachi to Panjgur was in dilapidated condition having poor tyres while overtaking smashed into the Mazda Pickup coming from opposite direction carrying smuggled fuel. Consequently both the vehicles overturned and caught fire instantly that resulted into burning casualties of around 25 passengers."
